A99 South Of Wick | Resurfacing Works

A99 South Of Wick
20th of October 2025, 7:00am to 31st of October 2025, 7:00pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out essential surface improvements on A99 South of Wick with works set to commence on Monday 20 October. Works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each working day until Friday 31 October.

To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, overnight lane closures will be in place with a convoy system to safely escort traffic through the work site. Outwith working hours all traffic management will be removed with a 30mph speed limit in place until works are complete.

No works will take place on Saturdays or Sundays.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of  the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This crucial surfacing project on the A9 at South of Wick will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all road users.
“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
