A985 Westbound at Admiralty Roundabout | Roadmarking Improvements
The exit from Admiralty Roundabout onto the westbound A985 into Rosyth will be closed for road marking improvement works between 19:00 and 23:00 on the night of Tuesday 21 October
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the works, which form part of the implementation of a 20mph speed limit.
A diversion route suitable for motorway traffic will be signposted from Admiralty Roundabout and Rosyth via the M90 northbound to Junction 2, the A823(M) westbound to Pitreavie Roundabout, then Queensferry Road and Kings Road southbound to Castle Road Roundabout. This diversion will add an estimated 2.1 miles and 4 minutes to affected journeys.
An alternative diversion route suitable for non-motorway traffic will also be signposted, via the A921 and B981 through Inverkeithing, turning west onto Hill Street, then Dunfermline Wynd and the B980 Castlandhill Road to Crossroads Roundabout. This diversion will add an estimated 2 miles and 6 minutes to affected journeys.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and minimise any inconvenience.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These road marking improvements on the A985 will improve safety for motorists using this section of the trunk road network.
“It is essential for safety that we close the carriageway while work takes place, however we’ve scheduled this during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank road users in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
