A972 Kingsway East Pitkerro Roundabout | Overnight Closure

A972 Kingsway East Pitkerro Roundabout
20th of September 2025, 7:30pm to 21st of September 2025, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking overnight retexturing work on Pitkerro Road Roundabout on the A972 Kingsway East in Dundee on Saturday 20th September.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will restore the surface texture and improve skid resistance, benefitting more than 50,800 motorists who use this route each day.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under an overnight closure of the roundabout between 7.30pm on Saturday 20th September and 6.30am on Sunday 21st September.

The following diversions will be in place.

Traffic heading east on the A90 Kingsway will be directed north up the A90 Forfar Road. They can then turn right onto Fountainbleau Drive and follow the route, taking the second exit at the roundabout onto Happyhillock Road. At the next roundabout traffic can take the third exit onto Douglas Road and follow the route to Scott Fyffe Roundabout, where they can rejoin the Kingsway East. Traffic travelling west can take the same route in reverse.

The diversion route will require four minutes additional journey time.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
