A96 Pansport Roundabout in Elgin | Overnight Resurfacing
Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements at Pansport Roundabout on the A96 in Elgin from Sunday 8th March to Friday 13th March.
The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will resurface approximately 130 metres of Pansport Roundabout and the northbound exit.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
The A96 will be closed between Northfield roundabout and Reiket Lane roundabout. The following diversion routes will be in place:
Eastbound traffic can take the third exit at Northfield Roundabout onto the A941 Northfield Terrace and follow the route to Laichmoray Roundabout. They can then take the third exit onto New Elgin Road. At the next roundabout traffic can then take the first exit onto Linkwood Road and follow the route to the next roundabout, where they can take the first exit onto Reiket Lane and follow the road to rejoin the A96 at Reiket Lane roundabout. Westbound traffic can take the route in reverse.
Local diversions will be in place for roundabouts and junctions onto the A96 which are within the closure area.
There will be local access between Reiket Lane Roundabout and Victoria Crescent westbound, and between Pansport Roundabout and Reiket Lane Roundabout eastbound on the east side of the closure.
There will also be local access between Northfield Roundabout and Cathedral Road on the west side of the closure.
Please be aware that prior to the planned closures there will be some advance works going ahead overnight to replace tactile crossing points and to address some maintenance issues. These will involve a four way set of temporary traffic lights to control the roundabout and approaches.
The diversion routes will add up to seven minutes additional journey time.
The resurfacing will benefit more than 22,500 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
