A96 near Inverness Airport | Overnight Surfacing
Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on the A96 near Inverness Airport from Sunday 29th June to Saturday 12th July.
The £565,000 scheme, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will resurface approximately 1000 metres of the A96 carriageway.
Work will take place between Drumine and 910 metres east of Culblair Farm.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures between 7.30pm and 6.30am. There will be no overnight work on Friday 4th July and Saturday 5th July.
In addition there will be daytime temporary traffic lights in place on weekdays between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day, from Monday 30th June to Friday 4th July and from Monday 7th July to Friday 11th July.
Westbound traffic can take the A939 at Nairn and turn right onto the B9101, before continuing on the B9090 to Clephanton. Traffic can then turn left onto the B9091 and continue on the B9006 at Croy. They can follow the route to Inshes Roundabout in Inverness where they can take the fifth exit to join the northbound A9 to Raigmore Interchange.
Eastbound traffic can follow the A9 south and exit onto the B9006 Culloden Road, then follow the above route in reverse.
Traffic for Inverness Airport from Inverness can take the A96 eastbound and gain access via the airport roundabout. Traffic from Nairn can gain access by following the main diversion and turning off on the B9006 to Brackley and following the fixed signage and B9039 to the airport.
Work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Saturday 12th July.
