EXTRA NIGHTS OF WORK:
Overnight convoy work will continue this week between 7.30pm and 6.30am until Friday 31st January, with traffic management removed by 6.30am on Saturday 1st February.
Due to the impact of adverse weather there will also be two further nights of work on Tuesday 4th February and Wednesday 5th February under overnight convoy between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
UPDATE (23/01/25): Overnight convoy working from 7.30pm to 6.30am is now due to take place from Saturday 25th January.
There is also scheduled to be an extra night of overnight convoy working on Friday 31st January.
Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on the A96 near Colpy in Aberdeenshire from Thursday 16th January to Friday 31st January.
The £570,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will deliver improvements on more than 1200 metres of the A96 trunk road.
The essential maintenance will take place between Devil’s Folly and south of Colpy.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under temporary traffic lights between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night on Thursday 16th January and Friday 17th January.
There will then be overnight convoy working between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night between Tuesday 21st January and Thursday 30th January.
Work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Friday 31st January.
The resurfacing will benefit more than 8,900 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
