A96 in Forres | Carriageway Investigations

A96 in Forres
26th of October 2026, 7:30pm to 29th of October 2026, 6:00am

Amey is undertaking overnight carriageway investigations on the A96 in Forres over three nights from Monday 26th October to Wednesday 28th October.

The investigations, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will take place between Benromach Way and New Greshop Roundabout.

The work will help determine the current condition of the carriageway and inform resurfacing works planned within the next year.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, temporary traffic lights will be in place from 7.30pm until 6am each night between Benromach Way and New Greshop Roundabout.

Four-way temporary traffic lights will also be in operation at Greshop Roundabout, with access maintained on each arm of the roundabout.

All work is scheduled to be completed by 6am on Thursday 29th October.

Due to the nature of the investigations, there may be periods of increased noise. Amey will programme activities to minimise disturbance as much as possible.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
