A96 Between Inverurie And Kintore | Drainage Improvements
SCHEME EXTENSION: Overnight drainage improvements on the A96 between Inverurie and Kintore in Aberdeenshire.
Overnight work has now been extended until Tuesday 30th June in order to complete phase 2 of the scheme.
Previous work saw the completion of phase 1 and part of phase 2 of the scheme. This extension will allow the remaining section of phase 2 to be completed.
Overnight lane restrictions will be in place on the A96 in both directions from 500 metres south of Forest Road overbridge at Kintore to Broomhill Roundabout between 7.30pm and 6.30am on weekdays only.
Please note there will be an extension to the traffic management currently in place on the A96 between Inverurie and Kintore in Aberdeenshire.
Overnight lane restrictions (between 7.30pm and 6.30am) are currently being utilised on the A96 between Port Elphinstone and Broomhill Roundabout, which were scheduled to be completed on Friday 15th May.
Additional work is required to install a temporary crossover in preparation for future resurfacing works at this location.
As a result there will be further daytime lane restrictions (between 6.30am and 7.30pm) at the northern end of the scheme, in the vicinity of Port Elphinstone Roundabout, from Friday 15th May to Tuesday 19th May.
Traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 7.30pm on Tuesday 19th May.
Amey is currently undertaking overnight drainage improvements on the A96 between Inverurie and Kintore in Aberdeenshire until Friday 15th May.
The £550,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will take place on the A96 between Port Elphinstone and Broomhill Roundabout.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight lane restrictions on the A96 in both directions between 7.30pm and 6.30am on weekdays only.
The essential works will increase overall safety and reduce flooding on the carriageway for more than 26,800 motorists who use this route each day.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
