A95 Toremore And Cromdale | Overnight Surfacing Improvements
Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on a section of the A95 between Tormore and Cromdale from Sunday 8th February to Friday 20th February.
The £450,000 scheme, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will resurface approximately 950 metres of the A95 carriageway at Dalvey Farm.
Work will take place between Millton and 553 metres east of Dalvey Farm.
In addition, work will also be undertaken simultaneously to deliver upgrades to road safety barriers and drainage at this location to minimise disruption to road users and the local community.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night. There will be no overnight work on Saturday 14th February.
The following diversion will be in place during the overnight road closures.
Eastbound traffic can exit the A95 at Inverallan Roundabout onto the B9102 for Grantown-On-Spey and follow the route through Grantown-on-Spey town centre until it becomes the A939 Old Military Road. Traffic can follow this road to Dava, and continue on the route as it becomes the A940, then travel all the way to Forres.
At Forres traffic can turn right onto the A96 and travel eastbound to Elgin. In Elgin town centre traffic can turn right onto the A941 (signposted A941 Perth), then right at Laichmoray Roundabout to stay on the A941, and follow the route to Craigellachie where they can rejoin the A95 westbound. Westbound traffic can take the same route in reverse.
In addition, amnesties to allow traffic through the works area will be available at 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm, 11pm, 1am, 3am and 5am each night. Please note that traffic will be allowed through one direction at a time so delays are possible.
All work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Friday 20th February.
The diversion route will require 36 minutes additional journey time.
The resurfacing will benefit more than 2,500 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
