A95 Maggieknockater | Ground Maintenance Works
Amey is undertaking essential ground maintenance works at Maggieknockater on the A95 in Moray on consecutive Sundays between Sunday 11th October and Monday 23rd November.
The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will include vegetation clearance, ground repairs, surveys and ground investigations to support the continued safe and reliable operation of the route.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken under full road closures of the A95 in each direction.
Traffic will be allowed through the works area at regular intervals (amnesties) during the closure.
The works are being undertaken over consecutive Sundays to minimise disruption to road users and local residents.
Sunday 11th October: Daytime road closure between 8am and 6pm.
Traffic released every 30 minutes.
Sunday 18th October to Sunday 22nd November: Overnight road closures from 8pm to 5.30am. (final reopening at 6.30am on Monday 23rd November).
Traffic released every 30 minutes until midnight.
Traffic released hourly after midnight.
A signed diversion route will be in place via Keith and Elgin during the closures.
Eastbound traffic on the A95 can take the A96 at Keith and follow the route to Elgin. Traffic can continue on East Road and Alexandra Road in Elgin, then take Northbound Terrace to join the A941. They can then follow the A941 to its junction for Craigellachie/Keith to gain access to the A95. Westbound traffic can follow this route in reverse.
Please note that all works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are not favourable.
