A95 Bridge of Avon | Carriageway Improvements

Amey is undertaking overnight carriageway improvements on the A95 at Bridge of Avon between Sunday 4th October and Friday 9th October.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, includes resurfacing and drainage improvements on approximately 620 metres of the A95 carriageway from the B9008 junction for Glenlivet/Drumin Castle in each direction.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken under overnight road closures of the A95 in each direction. Traffic will be allowed through the works area at regular intervals (amnesties) during the closure.

The following diversion will be in place.

Northbound traffic can leave the A95 at the A939 at Grantown-on-Spey and continue through Grantown-on-Spey until the junction with the B9102/Craigellachie. Traffic can then follow the B9102 until the junction with the A941 and then turn right onto the A941 at Dandaleith to rejoin the A95 at Craigellachie. Southbound traffic can take the route in reverse.

To reduce disruption, traffic will be escorted through the works area throughout the night at 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm, 11.30pm, 1.30am, 3am and 5am. Please note that traffic will be allowed through one direction at a time so delays are possible.

The diversion route will require 13 minutes additional journey time.

Access on to the A95 via the B9008 will also be closed during the works with traffic from the Glenlivet/Tomintoul area gaining access to the A95 via the B9008/A939/A95 to Grantown on Spey to then join the B9102 primary diversion route.

Work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Friday 9th October.

The investment will improve road surface quality and drainage performance, helping provide a smoother and more reliable journey while reducing the need for future maintenance.
