A95 and A96 In Moray | Temporary Traffic Lights to Install Speed Limit Signage
Amey is set to install new speed limit signage at four locations on the A95 and A96 in Moray from Monday 27th October to Thursday 30th October.
The signs will be installed at on the A95 at Aberlour and Craigellachie, and on the A96 at Keith and Elgin.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken using temporary traffic lights between 7.30pm and 6.30am at each location, as follows:
Monday 27th October:
A95 at Aberlour: From Aberlour graveyard to Speyside Scaffolding.
A95 at Craigellachie: From the current 30mph speed limit in west to 40m east of Speyside Road junction.
Tuesday 28th October
A96 at Keith: From Regent Crescent to Seafield Park.
Wednesday 29th October
A96 at Elgin: From Sherrifmill Road to 50 metres west of Ashgrove Road.
The new signage will help deliver Transport Scotland's National 20mph Speed Limit Strategy, which aims to reduce road collisions and their severity by lowering speed limits to 20mph in appropriate urban areas by the end of 2025. The 20mph speed limits on the A95 and A96 trunk roads will be made active at a future, to be confirmed date.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
