A92 Dundee | Traffic Signal Upgrade Works
Amey is undertaking work to upgrade the traffic signals at the A92 junction with Greendykes Road in Dundee from Monday 28th September to Friday 16th October.
The £150,000 project, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will install modern equipment to improve energy efficiency.
The existing traffic lights are approaching the end of their working life and the new system will ensure continued road safety by delivering improved reliability and reduced maintenance for several years.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, temporary traffic lights will be in place throughout the works. These will be installed overnight on Saturday 26th September under alternating lane restrictions on the A92 and Greendykes Road, ahead of the works commencing. The temporary signals will operate in the same sequence as the existing traffic lights to help minimise disruption for road users.
The improvements will be carried out overnight on weekdays between 7.30pm and 6.30am, with the temporary traffic lights remaining in operation 24 hours a day until completion.
The works will improve safety and reliability for the 26,000 road users who use this route each day.
