A92 at Craigellachie | Carriageway Protection and Assessment
Temporary traffic lights are being installed on the A95 at Craigellachie near Spey Road as a safety measure after subsidence was noted on the eastbound carriageway and verge.
The eastbound lane of the A95 requires to be closed to protect the carriageway and embankment from loading and further deterioration. This will allow a detailed assessment of the area to be undertaken.
Spey Road will also be closed in both directions (entrance and exit) for the duration of the works. This restriction is required as turning onto Spey Road from the A95 cannot be completed safely within the reduced road width created by the temporary traffic management.
Westbound traffic looking to access Spey Road can continue on the A95 to the junction with the A941. Turning left at this junction, traffic can then take the next left, for Dufftown/Cabrach/A941, and follow this route to access Spey Road at its junction with Hill Street.
The temporary traffic lights and Spey Road closure are currently estimated to remain in place for several months due to the nature of the required works which are considered to be extensive.
Amey understand this may cause some disruption and appreciate road users and the local community’s patience while these important safety measures are in place.
Further updates will be shared as work progresses.
