A90 Southbound Approaching Ellon Roundabout | Retexturing Works

A90 Ellon Roundabout
17th of September 2025, 7:30pm to 18th of September 2025, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking overnight retexturing work on both lanes of the A90 on the southbound approach to Ellon Roundabout on Wednesday 17th September.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will restore the surface texture and improve skid resistance, benefitting more than 7000 motorists who use this route each day.

Work will be undertaken on approximately 210 metres of the A90 to the north of the B9005 Roundabout.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under an overnight road closure between 7.30pm on Wednesday 17th September and 6.30am on Thursday 18th September.

Northbound traffic will be diverted via the B9005, where they can continue onto South Road and Bridge Street, and finally continue onto Golf Road. At the junction with the A948, traffic can turn right and follow the A948 to rejoin the A90. Southbound traffic can follow this route in reverse.

The diversion route will require six minutes additional journey time.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
