A90 Near Fordoun | Overnight Resurfacing Works

Fordoun
1st of July 2026, 7:30pm to 4th of July 2026, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on the A90 southbound near Fordoun, at the B967 junction in Aberdeenshire on Wednesday 1st July and Friday 3rd July.

The project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects within the deceleration lane of the B967 junction.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential works will be carried out under overnight lane restrictions between 7.30pm and 6.30am of lane one and the deceleration lane, alongside the closure of the B967 junction.

The following signed diversions will be in place:

Southbound

From the Dunnottar southbound off slip, traffic should travel via the A92. A further signed diversion at the B9120 will direct traffic north via the A92.

Northbound

From the B9120, traffic should follow the A92. A further signed diversion at the Dunnottar northbound off slip will direct traffic south via the A92.

Please note the diversion may add up to 20 minutes additional journey time.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 20,000 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother and safer ride for motorists.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
