A90 Laurencekirk | Overnight Resurfacing

A90 Laurencekirk
1st of June 2025, 7:30pm to 27th of June 2025, 6:30am

SCHEME RESCHEDULED (02/06/2025)

Due to operational issues this scheme has been rescheduled to take place over four nights between Tuesday 3rd June and Friday 27th June.

Work will now take place under overnight convoy on Tuesday 3rd June and Wednesday 4th June, between 7.30pm and 6.30am, with traffic management removed by 6.30am on Thursday 5th June.

There will then be further overnight work on Wednesday 25th June and Thursday 26th June, again between 7.30pm and 6.30am, with traffic management removed by 6.30am on Friday 27th June.

Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on the A90 at Laurencekirk over three nights between Sunday 1st June and Saturday 7th June.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will resurface approximately 260 metres of the A90 northbound carriageway between Burnside of Conveth and the A937 Junction.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out using overnight convoy working between 7.30pm and 6.30am on Sunday 1st June and Monday 2nd June, followed by a further night of works on Friday 6th June.

The northern A937 on and off slips at Laurencekirk to and from the A90 will be closed during the overnight work. Traffic from Laurencekirk can use the southern A937 junction to exit onto the A90 northbound, and southbound A90 traffic for the A937 can divert via the A90 southbound to Stracathro to avoid crossing across the A90.

Map location of roadworks

All work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Saturday 7th June.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 10,000 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
