A90 Kingsway West in Dundee | Overnight Resurfacing
Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on the A90 Kingsway West in Dundee from Thursday 29th January to Friday 13th February.
The £380,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will take place on the A90 Kingsway West travelling westbound between Clepington Road Roundabout and Coupar Angus Road Roundabout. Work will also take place on the Clepington Road westbound on slip.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight closures of the A90 Kingsway West between each roundabout from 7.30pm to 6.30am each night.
The following diversion will be in place during the overnight road closures.
Westbound traffic can take the exit at B960 Clepington Road onto King’s Cross Road. Traffic can then turn right onto Harefield Road and continue on the route before turning right onto Coupar Angus Road. They can then continue on Coupar Angus Road before rejoining the A90 westbound.
The B960 Clepington Road westbound on slip and A923 Coupar Angus westbound off slip will also be closed overnight during the work.
There will also be a daytime A90 westbound lane one restriction on Saturday 31st January and Sunday 1st February, from 6.30am to 7.30pm each day, to allow deeper sections of treatment to cool. This will include the closure of the B960 Clepington Road westbound on slip and A923 Coupar Angus westbound off slip.
The diversion route will require five minutes additional journey time.
The resurfacing will benefit more than 20,300 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
