A90 Between A923 Coupar Angus off slip and Strathmartine Roundabout
5th of April 2026, 10:00pm to 15th of April 2026, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking surfacing improvements on more than 2000 metres of the A90 Kingsway northbound in Dundee from Sunday 5th April to Wednesday 15th April.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will take place between the A923 Coupar Angus off slip and Strathmartine Roundabout, benefitting more than 21,000 vehicles who use this route each day.

The scheme has been planned to take place during the Easter school holiday period to reduce the impact on journey times for the travelling public.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will take place under a contraflow system from 10pm on Monday 6th April to Tuesday 14th April.

Lane closures will be in place from 10pm on Sunday 5th April to set up the contraflow. There will also be further lane closures from 7.30pm on Tuesday 14th April to stand down the contraflow.

All traffic management is schedule to be removed by 6.30am on Wednesday 15th April.

During the contraflow there will be northbound slip road closures on the A90 Kingsway, with signed diversions in place. The northbound A923 Coupar Angus off slip will remain open.

The northbound A923 on slip, northbound MacAlpine Road on and off slip and northbound Strathmartine Road junction will all be closed with diversions via the A90 in place.

In addition the Charlotte Street and Bank Avenue junctions with the A90 Kingsway will also be closed, with local diversions in place. There will also be no right turns in either direction onto the A90 Kingsway from Strathmartine Road.

Advance signage will also be in place prior to the A90 Swallow Roundabout northbound and A90 Forfar Road junction southbound advising traffic of potential delays and allowing them to divert via Riverside Avenue/Drive and Dock Street.

Please be aware that there may be delays of up to 12 minutes when the contraflow is in place.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
