A90 Kingsway in Dundee | Resurfacing
The A90 Kingsway northbound in Dundee is set to benefit from a £1.5 million investment that will deliver improvements to more than 2000 metres of the road surface.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out resurfacing on approximately 2,018 metres of the A90 Kingsway northbound from Sunday 5th October to Monday 20th October under a contraflow system.
The work will take place between the A923 Coupar Angus off slip and Strathmartine Road, benefitting more than 43,600 vehicles who use this route each day.
The scheme has been planned to take place during the school holiday period to reduce the impact on journey times for the travelling public.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will take place under a contraflow from 00.30am on Monday 6th October to 7.30pm on Sunday 19th October.
Lane closures will be in place from 6.30am on Sunday 5th October to 00.30am on Monday 6th October to set up the contraflow.
There will be further lane closures between 7.30pm on Sunday 19th October and 6.30am on Monday 20th October to stand down the contraflow.
During the contraflow there will be northbound slip road closures on the A90 Kingsway, with signed diversions in place. The northbound A923 Coupar Angus off slip will remain open.
The northbound A923 on slip, northbound MacAlpine Road on and off slip and northbound Strathmartine Road junction will all be closed with diversions via the A90 in place.
Northbound on slip diversions will be in place for the A923, MacAlpine Road and Strathmartine Road all of which are via the A90 southbound to Myrekirk Roundabout then returning north via the contraflow.
Northbound traffic for the MacAlpine Road off slip will be diverted to Old Glamis Roundabout then back to exit via the southbound off slip. Northbound traffic for Strathmartine Road will be diverted via the A90 and Gillburn Road.
Advance signage will also be in place prior to the A90 Swallow Roundabout northbound and A90 Forfar Road junction southbound advising traffic of potential delays and allowing them to divert via Riverside Drive and Dock Street.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
