A90 Hatton | Resurfacing Works

Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements on the A90 at Hatton in Aberdeenshire between Sunday 6th September to Friday 18th September.

The £430,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will resurface approximately 1,520 metres of the A90 carriageway from the southern 30mph limit at Hatton southwards to Auchenten House.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

There will be no overnight work on Saturday 12th September during the work period.

The following diversion route will be in place during the overnight closures.

Vehicles travelling north on the A90 can leave the A90 at Toll of Birness on the A952 and travel north to Mintlaw. At Mintlaw, diverted traffic then can turn right on the A950 and continues east towards Peterhead before reaching Howe O'Buchan Roundabout. Traffic can then turn right (3rd exit) and rejoin the A90 at Peterhead. Vehicles travelling south on the A90 can join the A950 at Peterhead and follow the above route in reverse.

From Peterhead there will be local access on the A90 southbound to Hatton.

All work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Friday 18th September.

Please be aware that the diversion route will require 23 minutes additional journey time.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 7,100 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
