A90 Fraserburgh High Street and Cross Street Junction | Traffic Signal Upgrade

A90 Fraserburgh High Street/Cross Street Junction
15th of June 2026, 8:00am to 3rd of July 2026, 5:00pm
A90 Cross Street-High Street Junction

Amey is undertaking work to upgrade traffic signals in Fraserburgh town centre at the Cross Street/High Street junction between Monday 15th June and Friday 3rd July.

The current traffic lights are nearing the end of their working life, and the upgraded system will help maintain road safety by offering greater reliability and lower maintenance needs for several years to come.

The work will also deliver improvements to pedestrian safety, particularly the visually impaired, as a result of upgrades to the crossing points.

The work will compliment upgrades undertaken to the traffic signals at the Saltoun Place/Victoria Street junction in late April.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken using temporary traffic lights and lane restrictions on weekdays only.

The temporary traffic lights will be on each arm of the junction with traffic still able to access each arm.

The temporary traffic lights will remain in place 24/7 until the new signals are fully installed, with the lane restrictions only required during the day between 8am and 5pm when work is taking place.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
