A90 Crimond And Fraserburgh | New 20MPH Signage
Amey is set to install 20mph signs on the A90 at Crimond and Fraserburgh over two days on Monday 1st September and Tuesday 2nd September ahead of the implementation of the new speed limit.
The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, is part of a project to introduce 20mph speed limits in towns and villages across the North East trunk road network.
The new signage will help deliver Transport Scotland's National 20mph Speed Limit Strategy, which aims to reduce road collisions and their severity by lowering speed limits to 20mph in appropriate urban areas by the end of 2025.
The implementation of the 20mph speed limits is being co-ordinated between Transport Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council, with a “Go Live” date scheduled for Monday 22nd September.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken using temporary traffic lights between 8.30am and 5pm at each location, as follows:
Monday 1st September: Covering the extents of Crimond.
Tuesday 2nd September: At Fraserburgh from approximately 85m north of Kessock Road to the A98.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
