A90 between Inchture and Rait | Resurfacing Works
Road users on the A90 southbound between Perth and Dundee are set to benefit from a £1 million investment that will improve more than 2 kilometres of the carriageway between Inchture and Rait Junction.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out resurfacing on the A90 southbound carriageway between Wednesday 30th September and Saturday 24th October.
The improvements will benefit more than 17,000 vehicles that use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the improvements will be delivered in two phases using a combination of overnight traffic management and a contraflow.
The contraflow allows the resurfacing work to be completed safely and efficiently while maintaining traffic flow on this busy route.
Phase 1 (7.30pm to 6am)
Wednesday 30th September to Friday 2nd October: Overnight lane restrictions.
Sunday 4th October to Friday 9th October: Overnight convoy.
Phase 2 (Contraflow 24/7)
From 6am on Monday 12th October until 6am on Friday 23rd October: Contraflow.
There will be overnight lane closures from 7.30pm to 6am on Sunday 11th October and on Friday 23rd October to set up and stand down the contraflow respectively.
During the contraflow, access to the following roads will be temporarily unavailable, with diversion routes in place:
Inchture A90 southbound on slip
Traffic wishing to join the A90 southbound can follow the B953 to join the A90 northbound, where they can then exit at Longforgan and turn to rejoin the A90 southbound.
A90 southbound access to the Horn Restaurant, Perthshire Caravans, Middlebank Golf Centre and GoGolf
Access to these businesses will remain available via a signed diversion route using the Inchmichael southbound off slip while the Errol off slip is closed.
All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6am on Saturday 24th October.
Road users are encouraged to plan ahead by checking up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journeys.
