A90 Between Dundee and Forfar | Woodland Management

Between Caird Park in Dundee and Forfar

Amey is undertaking essential woodland management on the A90 between Dundee and Forfar from Monday 20th October to Thursday 4th December.

The essential maintenance, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will trim and remove areas of woodland adjacent to the A90 for the safety of the travelling public and to improve driver visibility.

Traffic management will be in place on the A90 between approximately 1 kilometre north of Caird Park in Dundee to 2.5 kilometre south of Forfar in separate rolling phases.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under lane restrictions on lane 1 of both the north and southbound A90 carriageways at the following locations:
 

  1. From approximately 1km North of Caird Park in Dundee to 1.5km south of Inveraldie.
     
  2. From AM Phillip Trucktech Ltd (Forfar) to 0.3km south of Gateside.
     
  3. From 0.3km Southeast of Invereighty to 2.5km south of Forfar.

    The woodland management work schedule will be carried out as follows:
     
  • Monday 20th October at 9.30am to Wednesday 22nd October at 3.30pm – From 1 kilometre north of Caird Park in Dundee to 1.5 kilometres south of Inveraldie.
     
  • Friday 24th October at 7.30pm to Saturday 1st November at 9.30am - From AM Phillip Trucktech Ltd (Forfar) to 0.3 kilometres south of Gateside.
     
  • Monday 3rd November at 7.30pm to Friday 21st November at 6.30am - From 0.3 kilometres south east of Invereighty to 2.5 kilometres south of Forfar.
     
  • Friday 21st November at 7.30pm to Wednesday 26th November at 3.30pm - From AM Phillip Trucktech Ltd (Forfar) to 0.3 kilometres south of Gateside.
     
  • Thursday 27th November at 9.30am to Thursday 4th December at 3.30pm - From 1 kilometre North of Caird Park in Dundee to 1.5km south of Inveraldie.
     

To undertake the works safely there will also be slip road closures on the A90 and the closure of Emmock Road in Dundee, with diversion routes in place. The closures will be in place between 7.30pm and 6am as follows:

  • Friday 31st October to Saturday 1st November : A90 northbound off-slip closure at Gateside. Diversion: Continue on the A90 until the next off-slip onto the B9127. Take the next right followed by another right and continue on the B9127 and enter the A90 southbound on-slip. Continue on the A90 and take the A90 southbound off-slip at Gateside.
     
  • Monday 3rd November to Friday 7th November: A90 northbound off-slip closure at Douglastown. Diversion: Continue on the A90 until the off-slip at Glamis Junction at Halfpennyburn. Take the second exit at the roundabout and follow the A94 and take the third exit at the next roundabout onto the A90 southbound on-slip. Follow the A90 and take southbound off-slip at Douglastown (B9127).
     
  • Friday 7th November to Wednesday 20th November:  A90 northbound on-slip closure at Douglastown. Diversion: Continue on the B9127 and take the next right followed by the A90 southbound on-slip. Continue on the A90 and take the A90 southbound off-slip at Gateside. Take the next right followed by the next left onto the A90 northbound on-slip.
     
  • Thursday 20th November to Friday 21st November: A90 southbound off-slip closure at Douglastown. Diversion: Continue on the A90 and take the A90 southbound off-slip at Gateside. Take the next right followed by the next left onto the A90 northbound on-slip and continue on the A90. Take the A90 northbound off-slip at Douglastown.
     
  • Friday 21st November to Saturday 22nd November: A90 southbound off-slip closure at AM Phillip Trucktech Ltd. Diversion: Continue on the A90 southbound and at the second junction take the left onto Happas Road. Follow Happas Road to its end and take the next left onto Chapel Road. Continue on Chapel Road until reaching the T-junction where the next left will be taken.

The following bus stop closures will also be in place.

  • A90 Douglastown northbound off-slip bus stop: Closed for four nights from Monday 3rd November to Thursday 7th November between 7.30pm and 6am (finishing at 6am on Friday 7th November).
     
  • A90 Douglastown southbound off-slip bus stop: Closed for one night on Thursday 20th November between 7.30pm and 6am.
     
  • AM Phillip Trucktech Ltd southbound off-slip bus stop: Closed for one night on Friday 21st November between 7.30pm and 6am.

    Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
