A90/ A972 Kingsway | Overnight Woodland Management

Between Coupar Angus Interchange and Scott Fyffe Roundabout
2nd of March 2026, 7:30pm to 3rd of April 2026, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking overnight woodland management on the A90/A972 Kingsway in Dundee between Coupar Angus Interchange and Scott Fyffe Roundabout from Monday 2nd March to Friday 3rd April.

The £190,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will tackle storm‑related damage to trees and woodland by clearing fallen timber and thinning areas where public safety or infrastructure could be at risk.

These works will improve the general amenity of the area and reduce the risks to motorist and pedestrians.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under a rolling programme of overnight work between 7.30pm and 6.30am including restrictions to slip roads, laybys and pedestrian footpaths, and lane restrictions.

  • Sunday 2nd March to Thursday 5th March: Overnight rolling closures to slip roads to roundabouts on the A90 eastbound between Coupar Angus Interchange and Kingsway East Retail Park. In addition there will be restrictions to lane one on the A90 and the inner ring of roundabouts.

  • Friday 6th March to Monday 16th March: Lane restriction of the A90 eastbound between Strathmartine roundabout and Forfar Road junction. Closure of the pedestrian footpath adjacent to the A90 eastbound at the Old Glamis Road junction.

  • Tuesday 17th March to Wednesday 18th March: Lane one restriction of the A972 eastbound between Forfar Road junction and Longtown Road.

  • Thursday 19th March – Monday 23rd March: Restriction of lane one and the layby of the A972 westbound from the Kingsway East Retail Park roundabout to Pitkerro Road roundabout.

  • Tuesday 24th March to Tuesday 31st March: Lane restriction of A90 westbound from Mains Loan junction to Old Glamis Road junction.

  • Wednesday 1st April to Thursday 2nd April: Lane two restriction of the A90 eastbound and westbound between Foster Road and Forfar Road.

These works will improve the safety for more than 43,000 motorists who use this route each day.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
