A90 To A92 North Of Stonehaven | Resurfacing Works
Amey is undertaking surfacing improvements on the A90 northbound between Cowie Bridge and the B979 off slip, north of Stonehaven, from Monday 19th October to Friday 30th October.
The £300,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out resurfacing and drainage improvements on approximately 830 metres of the carriageway and 250 metres of the B979 off slip. Improvements to the southbound carriageway will be delivered under a future programme of works later this month.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the essential works will be carried out under overnight closures of the B979 northbound off slip road and overnight convoy working on the A90 northbound mainline between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
The following diversion will be in place for traffic using the B979 northbound off-slip to access the A90 AWPR:
Traffic will continue on the A92 northbound to Charlestown before taking the A956 Fastlink westbound to rejoin the A90 AWPR at Cleanhill Roundabout.
Please be aware that the diversion route may add up to 6 minutes additional journey time.
Local diversions will also be in place for north Stonehaven and the B979 north.
Daytime alternating lane restrictions will also be in place throughout the duration of the works.
Please note that there will be no works on Friday 23rd or Saturday 24th October.
These works will benefit more than 9,900 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
