A9 at Tomatin | Overnight Resurfacing
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out essential surface improvements on the A9 at Tomatin with works starting on Friday 17 April for two nights.
Works will be carried out between 8pm and 6am and are expected to be completed by the morning of Sunday 19 April.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, overnight lane closures will be in place with a convoy system operated to safely escort traffic through the site.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: “This crucial surfacing project on the A9 at Tomatin will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all road users.
“We have planned the works in collaboration with the Contractor responsible for the A9 Dualling Tomatin to Moy project, hence why the resurfacing is being undertaken on a Friday and Saturday night. Our teams will carry out these works efficiently, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
