A9 Southbound at Luncarty | Resurfacing Works

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out resurfacing on the A9 southbound dual carriageway at Luncarty from Sunday 4 October.

These works will be completed between the hours of 7pm to 6am and are expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday 15 October. No works will be carried out on Friday or Saturday nights.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and road users, works will be carried out under temporary traffic lights with a convoy system in place on the southbound dual carriageway for the duration of the works.

The southbound on-slip road will also be closed with a signed diversion in place while the works are being carried out. A diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be signposted from Luncarty via the B8063 and A9, adding an estimated 4.5 miles and 6 minutes to journey times.

Speed restrictions will remain in place during the day as traffic will be traveling over a temporary surface with no road markings.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the carriageway resurfacing to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
