A9 Raigmore Interchange | Essential Works
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is advising road users and the local community of temporary changes to pedestrian and cycle access at Raigmore Roundabout in Inverness, starting Monday 22 June for three weeks.
The changes are required to allow contractors to carry out essential works on a section of the existing pedestrian route as part of the on-going project to improve active travel by signalising the roundabout.
To maintain safety during the works, temporary traffic lights will be installed to stop traffic and allow pedestrians and cyclists to cross safely at designated points. Those walking, wheeling or cycling are encouraged to follow all on-site signage and instructions while the works are underway.
It is currently expected that the signalisation works will be completed in August.
Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Design Manager said: “These temporary arrangements are required to safely facilitate ongoing works to permanently signalise Raigmore Interchange.
“The temporary traffic lights will help provide safe crossing points while contractors carry our works on the existing footway/cycleway.
“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
