A9 At The Pass of Drumochter | Overnight Resurfacing

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential resurfacing on the A9 at the Pass of Drumochter from Thursday 24 September.

Works will be carried out each night between 7pm and 6am from the evening of Thursday 24 September to the morning of on Friday 2 October. Temporary traffic lights and a lane closure will be in place during working hours to ensure the safety of roadworkers and the travelling public. Layby 83 will also be closed.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the carriageway resurfacing to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Euan Burnett , BEAR Scotland’s North West Design Manager said: “This resurfacing on the A9 at the Pass of Drumochter will fix existing defects in the road surface and improve road markings, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.

“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
