UPDATE (19/02/2026): Due to changes in the programme of works, overnight surfacing on the A9 North of Calvine will now start on Tuesday 24 February.

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential improvements on the A9 at Clunes Lodge, north of Calvine from Tuesday 24th February.

These works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am, and are expected to be completed by the morning of Friday 20th March. There will be no work undertaken on Friday and Saturday nights.

To protect the workforce, a reduced speed limit along with the temporary traffic lights will be setup on the approach to the site and traffic will be guided through the works, at 10mph, by a convoy vehicle.

Traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours, however, 30mph speed restrictions will be in place during the day as traffic will be running on a temporary surface with no road markings.

Access through the works sites for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North Planned Maintenance Manager said: “These works will help restore the condition of the road surface at this section of the A9, improving driving conditions.

“Our teams are committed to completing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
