A9 Dualling: Tomatin To Moy | Realignment At Tomatin

A9 Tomatin/Moy
17th of November 2025, 7:00pm to 22nd of November 2025, 6:00am

Road users are advised of upcoming changes to traffic management layouts on the A9 at Tomatin.

For approximately five days, from 17 November 2025, overnight temporary traffic signals and a convoy system will be in place on the A9 south of the Tomatin north junction. Works will take place between 1900 and 0600 each evening, excluding Sunday nights when no works will be taking place.

Road users will be stopped at temporary traffic signals and a convoy system will guide them through the works during these overnight works.

These works are required to allow the workforce to safely undertake works to temporarily realign the A9.

Realignment of the A9 at Tomatin and new access junction from 28 November

From 28 November 2025, both lanes of the A9 will be temporarily realigned at Tomatin to facilitate the construction of a new underpass at Tomatin, with the realignment expected to remain in place until Autumn 2026.

The existing access junction to Tomatin will also be closed from 28 November, with a new temporary junction for Tomatin residents and visitors becoming operational from this date located approximately 400 metres south of the existing junction. The new junction will be clearly signposted.

The map below illustrates the realignment and location of the new junction:

Bus stop relocation from A9 at Tomatin from 28 November

From 28 November, both northbound and southbound bus stops currently in place on the A9 will be permanently relocated to the bus turning circle near Tomatin Distillery. This is a permanent relocation which will affect all bus services which are scheduled at these bus stops including the 37. This also includes the school bus which travels to Millburn Academy.

The X37 will bypass the bus turning circle in Tomatin and will proceed its journey to Carrbridge and Aviemore.
