A9 Dualling Tay Crossing To Ballinluig | Temporary Traffic Signals
Road users are advised of upcoming changes to the road layout and temporary traffic management measures on the A9 south of Kindallachan as part of the A9 Dualling: Tay Crossing to Ballinluig project. Works will involve the installation of a temporary right hand filter lane for southbound construction traffic on the A9 to allow access to a construction compound at Guay, this will be used by construction traffic only.
In order to install the filter lane, overnight two-way temporary traffic signals and a lane closure will be required on the A9 overnight from 7pm until 6am the following day for a period of four weeks from Monday 27 April 2026. No works will take place on Saturday or Sunday evenings.
Following this, three-way temporary traffic signals with convoy working will be required in the same area for a period of two nights from Monday 25 May to Wednesday 27 May 2026 to assist with the removal of existing lining and installation of new road markings. During this period, a speed limit of 10mph will be introduced for road users travelling through the area, led by a convoy vehicle for safety.
From Wednesday 27 May 2026, the right turn filter lane will be in use for construction vehicles accessing the Guay compound. Advanced signage will be installed on both the northbound and southbound approaches to the site compound to clearly indicate the change in road layout and access arrangements for site traffic.
Access to emergency vehicles and pedestrian users will be maintained throughout the works.
These measures are required to ensure the safety of road users and the workforce whilst construction works are carried out. Road users are advised to approach the area with care, observe all traffic signs and allow extra time for their journeys.
