A9 Dualling: Tay Crossing To Ballinluig | Overnight Traffic Management from 15th June

Tay Crossing/Ballinluig
15th of June 2026, 7:00pm to 26th of June 2026, 6:00am

Road users are advised of upcoming traffic management measures and changes to the road layout on the A9 between Ballinluig and south of Rotmell junction as part of the A9 Dualling works.

A narrowed lane will be introduced on the A9 with temporary barriers installed along the southbound carriageway edge line throughout the length of the project. This work is required to ensure safety of pedestrians whilst construction work is carried out.

In order to implement these temporary measures, traffic management in the form of short lane closures with temporary traffic signals and convoy working will take place between 7pm until 6am the following day for approximately two weeks from Monday 15 June 2026. No works will take place on Saturday or Sunday nights and the location of the traffic management will vary and move across the site area as works are carried out.

From 22 June 2026, abnormal load operators should wait in the designated holding areas:
A9 Northbound – Layby 36N, north of Bankfoot
A9 Southbound – Layby 34, north of Ballinluig

All holding areas will be clearly signposted with contact details for traffic management who will escort them safely through the site.

Road users are asked to approach the area with care and allow extra time for their journeys whilst these works are carried out. For live updates, please refer to the Traffic Scotland website.
These overnight measures may cause some delay, and we apologise for any inconvenience.

A map showing the location of these works is provided below.
