A9 Drumochter Dual Carriageway | Safety Barrier Improvements
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to replace safety barriers in the central reserve at the southbound split level dual carriageway section of the A9 at Dalnaspidal from Monday 20 October.
The project is expected to take up to 30 days to complete and the improvements will be carried out between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
The A9 will remain open throughout the works. To keep road workers and the travelling public safe, the works be undertaken with a lane two (outside lane) closure and a reduced temporary speed limit in place. The lane closure will be in place 24 hours a day.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “This project will improve safety for road users along this route by updating the barrier system in the central reserve area.
“Our team sought to minimise disruption by scheduling works out with the peak tourist season and prior to the winter period where the site is prone to severe and sudden winter conditions. We are committed to finishing the project as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan their journeys ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
