A9 Clashmore Junction, Dornoch | Tree Felling Works

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out tree felling works to improve the visibility of traffic signs on the A9 at Clashmore Junction, Dornoch from Monday 23 February.

The works are part of a wider project to provide a Standard Incident Diversion Route (SIDR) at this section of the A9. This is an alternative route agreed upon by BEAR Scotland, the local authority and emergency services which is suitable for all trunk road traffic and can be used in the event of a road closure.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm and are expected to be completed by Friday 27 February.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, three-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the works.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the tree felling works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: “The tree felling on the A9 at Clashmore Junction will improve visibility of signage due to be installed as part of a wider project to implement a Standard Incident Diversion Route at this section of the A9.
