A9 Broxden Roundabout approach | Resurfacing
The A9 approach from Stirling to Broxden Roundabout at Perth will benefit from a further £1.18 million investment that will deliver improvements to nearly 3000 metres of the road surface.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out resurfacing on the A9 northbound between Wednesday 4th June and Wednesday 11th June under a contraflow with lane closures before and after.
The project will deliver two road surface improvement schemes back-to-back, under one contraflow traffic management system, to minimise disruption for residents, businesses and the travelling public.
The work will complement a £187,000 resurfacing scheme that took place in April on 468 metres of the A9 northbound approach to Broxden Roundabout.
The latest phase of resurfacing work will take place on 1813 metres of the A9 northbound from West Lamberkine Woods to Broxden Roundabout.
Further resurfacing work will also take place on 1148 metres of the A9 northbound between Crossgates and the junction for Tibbermore.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the essential maintenance will be carried out under a contraflow from 6.30am on Thursday 5th June to 7.30pm on Wednesday 11th June.
Lane closures will be in place from 7.30pm on Wednesday 4th June to 6.30am on Thursday 5th June to set up the contraflow.
There will be further lane closures between 7.30pm on Wednesday 11th June and 6.30am on Thursday 12th June to stand down the contraflow.
The resurfacing will benefit more than 27,000 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
The Kinkell Bridge Junction at Crossgates and the Tibbermore Junction will be closed during the contraflow. Traffic should access Tibbermore from the A85, and local traffic for the Kinkell Bridge Junction should access via Broom of Dalreoch.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
