A9 Between Tore And Arpafeelie | Safety Barrier Upgrades

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out works to replace the central reserve safety barrier on the A9 dual carriageway from south of Tore Roundabout to Arpafeelie junction.

Works will be carried out from the evening of Monday 7 September until the morning of Monday 12 October. Due to the nature of the works, the outside lane of the dual carriageway will be closed in both directions with a 30mph speed limit in place for the duration of the works.

Access to emergency services will be maintained at all times. Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders.

Michael Baxter, BEAR Scotland’s North West Improvements Scheme Manager, said: “The replacement of the central reserve safety barrier is key to ensuring the ongoing safe operation of the A9.

“The works have been planned to minimise disruption to road users as far as possible. The lane closures are required to ensure the safety of our workforce and road users.

“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our teams carry out these essential works and request that the temporary speed limits are adhered to, to ensure our workers can go home safely to their families each day.”
