A9 between Aberuthven and Crossgates | Resurfacing
Road users on the A9 in Perth and Kinross are set to benefit from a £1 million investment that will improve more than 1.6 kilometres of the carriageway between Aberuthven and Crossgates.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out resurfacing and drainage improvements on approximately 1.6km of the A9 southbound between Thursday 17th September and Saturday 3rd October.
Work will take place from approximately 1.5km west of the B934 junction to 43m east of River Earn Bridge.
The improvements will benefit more than 9,400 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the work will be carried out under a programme of overnight lane restrictions followed by a contraflow system.
Traffic management will be implemented as follows:
Thursday 17th September, Friday 18th September
· Lane restriction on the A9 southbound carriageway.
· 7.30pm to 6am each night.
Sunday 20th September
· Lane restrictions on both the A9 northbound and southbound carriageways.
· 7.30pm to 6am.
Monday 21st September to Friday 2nd October
· From 6am on Monday 21st September until 6am on Friday 2nd October.
· A contraflow system will be in place on the A9 southbound carriageway, with traffic using the northbound carriageway.
· A 30mph speed limit will be in operation through the crossover sections.
Friday 2nd October
· Lane restrictions on both the A9 northbound and southbound carriageways.
· From 6am on Friday 2nd October to 6am on Saturday 3rd October.
All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6am on Saturday 3rd October.
