A898 Erskine Bridge Southbound | Essential Resurfacing

A898 Erskine Bridge Southbound

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the southbound A898 Erskine Bridge from 8pm on Friday 7th August until 6am on Monday 10th August 2026 under a full weekend closure of the southbound carriageway and northbound Lane 2. All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Monday 10th August 2026 following completion of works.

Motorway traffic:
Traffic travelling Southbound will be diverted to A82 Great Western Road Eastbound Joining M8 at Junction 17 Westbound On slip from West Graham St and continuing M8 to Junction 30 where diversion ends.

Non- Motorway traffic:
Traffic travelling southbound will be diverted via the A82 Great Western Road East bound to Crow Rd  through the Clyde Tunnel onto Edminson Drive, Helen St, Paisley Rd W West Bound, Glasgow Rd, Old Sneddon St, St James' St, Greenock Rd, St James' Interchange following the A726 up to the interchange under A898 where diversion ends.

Emergency service access has been agreed and will be maintained in coordination with relevant parties.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
