BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland are set to carry out rock slope stabilisation works on the A887 west of Invermoriston, near Dundreggan Reservior, from Monday 30 June.

The works involve rock slope stabilisation of an area where rock fall is a risk. This project will take place from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday with works expected to be completed by Saturday 16 August.

Temporary traffic signals and a 30mph speed limit will be in place 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of the workforce, pedestrians and motorists for the duration of the project. There is expected to be minor delays at times due to the nature of the works.

Access for emergency services is available at all times and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the duration of the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These rock slope stabilisation works on the A887 near Invermoriston will improve safety for all road users by lessening the risk of rock fall in this location.

“Our teams will carry out these works quickly with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
