A876 | Overnight Maintenance
The A876 over the Clackmannanshire Bridge will be closed on three nights from 28 to 30 April, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to carry out a variety of routine maintenance tasks on the trunk road, including grass cutting, drainage cleaning, sign cleaning, detailed inspections, and road sweeping.
The trunk road will be closed from 20:30 until 06:00 each night, in both directions between Higgins Neuk Roundabout and M876 Junction 3 (Bowtrees).
A signed diversion route will be in place via the A985 Kincardine Bridge and the A977, adding an estimated 5 minutes and 1.6 miles to affected journeys.
Lane closures will also be in place on the nights of Monday 27 April and Friday 1 May.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the works in advance.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We’ll use these overnight closures on the A876 to carry out as many routine maintenance tasks as possible, reducing the overall need for closures and traffic management.
“It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway while work is taking place. Our advice if you need to use the A876 at night during this period is to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes for your journey.
“We’re grateful to road users and the local community for their understanding.”
