A876 North Approach Road | Overnight Resurfacing works
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out resurfacing works on A876 North Approach Road from Wednesday 11 March.
The work will take place over eight nights, excluding weekends, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00, concluding the morning of Saturday 21 March.
To protect the workforce and road users, the A876 North Approach Road will be closed during working hours. During closures, signed diversions will be in place.
Road users travelling along the A985 from Kincardine Bridge will be diverted via the A985 eastbound to Longannet Roundabout and the A977 westbound. Those travelling from the A977 Toll Road will be diverted via the A977 eastbound to Longannet Roundabout and the A985 eastbound. The diversions are expected to add approximately 1.3 miles and two minutes to journeys.
Walker Street and Chapel Street will also be closed during the works, preventing access to the North Approach Road. Motorists will be diverted via the A977 to continue their journey. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on the A977 to ensure the safety of all road users.
The X24 and X27 Stagecoach bus services will use the Feregait and Forth View bus stops as a temporary measure during periods of closure to maintain accessibility for residents.
Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve road conditions and safety for all users of the A876.
“A carriageway closure is essential for safety however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise travel disruption.
“If you do need to travel during these works, please allow some extra time for your journey.”
