A86 Through Newtonmore | Scottish Water Sewer Repairs

Newtonmore Main Street
16th of January 2026, 8:00pm to 18th of January 2026, 7:00pm

Scottish Water are carrying out essential repair work to a sewer pipe beneath the A86 Trunk Road on Main Street, Newtonmore.

For the safety of both the public and workers, a section of the road will be closed while the repair takes place.

To help minimise disruption, the repair is scheduled to begin at 8pm on Friday 16 January, with the team working overnight on Friday and continuing during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

The publicly-owned utility expect to have the repair completed and road fully reopened by 7pm on Sunday 18 January.

A signed diversion route will be in place during the closure and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “We appreciate that this work may cause some inconvenience and would like to thank the local community and road users for their patience while this essential repair is carried out.”
