A85 at Monzievaird | Overnight Resurfacing
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out overnight carriageway resurfacing works on the A85 at Monzievaird, west of Crieff from Sunday 17 May.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am, with no works on Friday or Saturday nights. The project is expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday 26 May.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and all road users, the road will be closed during working hours each night. Vehicles will be escorted safely through the works under a 10mph convoy during hourly amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am.
Traffic management measures will be removed outwith working hours, however temporary speed restrictions will remain in place for the duration of the works as traffic will be running over a temporary surface without road markings.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Design Manager, said: “This carriageway resurfacing on the A85 at Monzievaird will fix existing defects in the road surface and improve road markings, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.
“Our teams will carry out these works efficiently, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
