A85 at Loch Awe | Tree Removal and Landscaping Works
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out vegetation and tree removal, as well as landscaping works on the verge of the A85 at Loch Awe from Monday 16 March.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm and are expected to be completed by Sunday 22 March.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, two-way temporary traffic lights and a 30mph speed restriction will be in place, reducing traffic to a single lane 24 hours a day for the duration of the works. During certain critical activities, there may be short traffic holds of up to 10 minutes and the adjacent layby will be closed for the full duration of the works.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the rockslope works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Michael Baxter, BEAR Scotland’s North West Improvements Scheme Manager said: “These works will remove trees and vegetation from the verge area to reduce the risk of soil and debris reaching the carriageway, improving safety for road users.
“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
