A85 Glen Ogle | Overnight Resurfacing Works
UPDATE (04/08/2025): Due to the Met Office amber weather warming, works on the A85 at Glen Ogle Head are cancelled tonight. Works will resume tomorrow.
On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out road surface improvements on the A85 at Glen Ogle between Lochearnhead and Lix Toll from Sunday 3rd August.
The works will be carried out between 7pm and 5am each night with completion anticipated by 5am on Monday 25th August 2025, subject to weather conditions.
No work will be carried out on Friday or Saturday nights with the exception of Friday 15 August so road markings and traffic loops can be reinstated between 7pm and 5am.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and road users, this section of the A85 will be closed overnight. Hourly amnesties will be offered at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am and 4am with an escort vehicle taking traffic safely through the site under a 10mph convoy.
The road will be open from 5am each day to keep disruption to a minimum, with a speed restriction of 30mph in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.
Access through the work site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This surfacing project on the A85 will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.
“We’ve taken steps to limit the overall impact of the projects by carrying out the work during the night.
“We are grateful to the local community and road users for their patience. Please check the Traffic Scotland website for the latest travel updates before embarking on your journey.”
