BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential drainage improvement works on the A85 at Derrywood, between St Fillans and Lochearnhead, from Tuesday 25 August.

Works will be carried out between 08:00 and 16:00 and are expected to be completed by Friday 11 September.

To protect road users, two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours and will be removed outside of these times.

The lay-by on the westbound carriageway within the scheme area will be closed for the duration of the works for the storage of materials and welfare facilities.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout the works.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of the drainage improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise inconvenience.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Design Manager, said: “These works will help restore the drainage system in the area to full operational capacity and reduce instances of flooding on the trunk road.

“Our teams will carry out these works as quickly and safely as possible. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete these improvements.”

The works are weather dependent and any significant changes or delays to the programme will be advertised.
