A85 at Dalveich | Resurfacing Works
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out major resurfacing works on the A85 at Dalveich between St Fillans and Lochearnhead from Monday 7 September.
Resurfacing works will take place between 7pm and 6am and will be completed by the morning of Wednesday 16 September. No works will take place on Friday or Saturday nights and Sunday 13 September.
To protect road users, the A85 will be closed at the works location each night of the resurfacing works. Hourly amnesties will be provided at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am, when waiting vehicles will be escorted safely through the site.
As well these road resurfacing works, the project also includes overnight smaller-scale road patching at the following locations west of St Fillans:
- A85 Tarken Lodge: Wednesday 16 September until the morning of Friday 18 September
- A85 Clach Mhor: Sunday 20 September until the morning of Tuesday 22 September
- A85 Taigh Na Hiasgair: Tuesday 22 September until the morning of Friday 25 September
- A85 East of Sailing Club: Sunday 27 September until the morning of Tuesday 29 September
During road patching works, lane closures with two-way temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation each night.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout the works.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of works to make them aware of traffic management arrangements and to minimise inconvenience.
Euan Burnett, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager, said: “These resurfacing works on the A85 will address existing defects in the road surface and replace road markings, improving the quality and safety of the route.
“To carry out the resurfacing safely, overnight road closures with amnesty periods are necessary. We thank the local community and road users in advance for their patience while we complete these improvements.”
The works are weather dependent and any significant changes or delays to the programme will be advertised.
